I had a root canal yesterday. Since it was an emergency appointment, I thought there'd be lots of waiting and that I'd get lots of knitting done. Thankfully (or unthankfully, depending on how invested you are in my WIPs being completed) my dentist got me in and out in less than an hour. Miraculous. I only knit 6 stitches, literally.

Now I'm on antibiotics for a week. Followed by a rigorous anti-yeast campaign. Antibiotics, how I hate what you do the balance of fauna in my reproductive organs. Beats dying of infections, I know, but so irritating all the same.

So. Ya wanna see what I've finished?

Of course you do!

This is all the Dulaan hats I've made for this year's shipment:

Can you tell I like the star pattern a lot?

The newly finished ones are the green ribbed hat (second from left) and the blue star hat on the right. I like that pattern a lot. It's from Hats On! by Charlene Schurch who also wrote Sensational Knitted Socks.

Speaking of socks, my first pair of small-needle socks!

Mary Janes were made to showcase handknit socks.

I finished these at the North End Farmer's Market this past Thursday. They fit pretty well and I love the colors. But I can feel the purl bumps on the bottom of the sole. I don't think I'll use this yarn again unless someone has a pretty convincing reason why I should.

Sock Specs

  • Pattern: Twisted Socks, free from Knit Picks
  • Yarn: Knit Picks Dancing, Swing
  • Needles: Plymouth Bamboo 1 & 2
  • Other: Altough pretty, the cabling was not worth the extra time. I will think twice before using a slow-to-knit pattern on a pair of socks in the future.

For hat specs, see other star hats in the gallery.

Project Spectrum - June is blue!

The star hat and the socks qualify for this month's Project Spectrum. I think that I will complete one more of the blue items from my WIP list before the end of the month; the blue Log Cabin Socks for my Aunt Mildred. I turned the heel on the first sock today during Happy Crochet/Knit FunTime at my house this afternoon. Which was blast by the way - thanks to Emily for suggesting it! And thanks to everyone who came and added to the fun and culinary delights!

Oh right, now that I've posted pix of FOs from the list, the contest is officially closed. And if I've completed things that weren't on your list, don't give up hope! You could still win... unless you missed my broad hint about the Dulaan hats - if so I think you're SOL. Sorry.
