Orange Pullover, aka the six day sweater
Here it is, the six day sweater.

We had a nice overcast evening; perfect for photographing those tricky oranges.

- Pattern: Knitting Pure and Simple Neck Down Pullover by Diane Soucy
- Yarn: Araucania Nature Wool Chunky, color 108 ~7 skeins
- Needles: size 9 + 7 (Addi Turbo circs + Brittany dpns)
- Size: I knit the small but at a slightly larger gauge to hit a target size of medium. Actual finished size = 45"
- Etc: Minor pattern wrangling due to gauge variation. Reversed the decreases on the sleeves. As written they lean the wrong way. This is my first top down sweater. Love the magic of top-down raglan shaping.
As I mentioned in previous posts, I love top-down construction. It's so easy and fast. Not sure how I love how it fits, though. It came out a bit bigger than I'd planned; at least 2" larger. I swatched very carefully, but I think perhaps the weight of the garment is stretching it out more than a swatch stretches/blooms. This yarn definitely blooms. If you use it, block your swatch!
The yarn got nice + soft after blocking; more so than I'd anticipated. This will be so cozy come fall!
I miss the gussets that I've learned to work into seamed and bottom-up seamless sweaters. I feel like the sweater bunches up under my arms; not sure if it's because the sweater is oversized or because it doesn't have gussets. I guess I'll have to make another one (that fits better) so I'll know!
